Hot and wet climate of Paraguay is ideal for the sesame cultivation. Each year the cultivated areas increase and the production of sesame grew from 25 thousand tons in 2004 to 50 thousand tons in 2007. In 2008 about 75 thousand tons of high quality product has been produced for its further exportation.
Main buyers of sesame from Paraguay are Japan, Germany, Israel, Korea and Holland.
The sowing takes place in spring, in October, during the rain season. Within four months of hot summer the plant grows up, flowers and the seeds mature.
In the beginning of February the plant is cut and dried in sheaves.
In 10-15 days its is threshed and directed to the cleaning factory.
Our factory is situated in the suburbs of Asuncion and is equipped with modern seed-cleaning machines with the capacity of processing 25 tons of sesame seeds per day.
The seeds suffer the following cleaning processes: initial cleaning, drying and cleaning off weed and metal admixtures.
The cleaned seeds are packed in bags per 25 or 50 kg and sent to the client.
